What We Install

Intercom Solutions for Warehouses

Loading Dock Intercom

Door station at the loading dock entry — drivers call through before the bay door opens. Office staff or warehouse manager verifies the delivery before granting access. Eliminates unauthorized dock access.

Perimeter Gate Intercom

Vehicle gate intercom for delivery trucks and authorized vehicles. Camera covers the gate approach — operator sees the vehicle and driver before triggering the gate opener.

Industrial-Grade Hardware

Warehouse environments are hard on electronics. We install door stations rated for industrial use — wide temperature range, dust and moisture resistance, and vandal-proof housing. Not consumer hardware that fails in a year.

Office-to-Dock Intercom

Two-way intercom between the front office and loading dock for internal communication. Dock workers call the office, office staff respond — without anyone needing to walk the length of the building.

After-Hours Access Control

Authorized after-hours personnel enter via key fob or access code. All others are locked out. After-hours intercom calls route to an on-call manager's phone.

Multiple Entry Points

Pedestrian entry, vehicle gate, loading dock, and emergency exits — each managed from the same system with appropriate hardware for each entry type.

Why It Matters

Warehouse Entry Points Are High-Theft Targets

Uncontrolled warehouse access — especially at loading docks and vehicle gates — is a primary vector for cargo theft, unauthorized removal, and after-hours break-ins.

Delivery Truck Verification

Cargo theft rings send fake delivery trucks and pickup drivers to warehouses. Intercom verification at the dock allows staff to confirm the carrier and scheduled delivery before opening the bay — a basic but effective theft deterrent.

After-Hours Perimeter Control

NYC industrial areas see after-hours break-in attempts regularly. A locked perimeter gate with intercom for authorized late deliveries significantly raises the barrier compared to an open lot.

Liability Documentation

A timestamped log of every vehicle and person admitted at each entry point is useful for inventory disputes, insurance claims, and incident investigations. Intercom systems provide this automatically.

Staff Safety on Remote Docks

Dock workers operating alone on a remote loading bay benefit from a connected intercom to the office. In an emergency, they can reach management immediately without a phone call.

FAQ

Common Questions — Warehouses

We use industrial-grade IP door stations for warehouse environments — stainless steel or aluminum housing, IP65 or higher dust and water resistance, and operating temperature ratings down to -20°C for outdoor dock installations. Aiphone IX-DVF-HW and 2N Verso with outdoor weatherproofing are typical choices. These are designed for harsh environments and daily heavy use. Consumer video doorbells are entirely inappropriate for dock installations and fail quickly in industrial conditions.
Yes. Vehicle gates get a dedicated door station positioned so the driver can reach the call button from their cab — mounted on a post or intercom pedestal at the correct height. Pedestrian entries get standard door stations. Both connect to the same intercom system; gates are triggered via relay output from the intercom controller. We spec relay compatibility with your gate operator during the site visit.
Several options: the intercom call can forward to a mobile phone when the dock manager is away from the office — the manager sees the camera, speaks with the driver, and triggers the gate or dock door remotely. Alternatively, we can configure temporary PIN codes for pre-authorized carriers — the driver enters the code, access is granted and logged, no live manager required. Time-limited codes expire automatically after the delivery window.
Yes. Every intercom interaction is timestamped and logged — button press time, duration of call, whether access was granted, and from which device the release was triggered. For facilities that need carrier verification logs for insurance or compliance purposes, this provides a full daily record. Camera footage from the door station supplements the log with visual records of each vehicle.
Yes. Multi-tenant warehouse configurations use individual door stations per bay or per tenant, each routed to the respective tenant's answering station. Building management can also have oversight access to all entry points if needed. This is the same architecture as a multi-tenant office building — separate addressing per tenant, independent answering, shared physical infrastructure.
