The Problem & The Fix

Why Most Camera Systems Fail
(and how we fix it)

A camera that can't export footage, drops off Wi-Fi, or points at a wall isn't protecting you — it's just giving you false confidence.

Common Problems
Blind spots and glare-prone angles

Cameras aimed at bright windows or positioned too high to capture faces — useless for evidence.

Wi-Fi disconnects at critical moments

Wireless cameras drop signal, lose recordings, and can be jammed with inexpensive off-the-shelf devices.

Messy, exposed cabling

Cables stapled along baseboards or run in conduit through hallways — unprofessional and an invitation to tampering.

Owners unable to export footage

Complex UI, no training, no app setup — property owners who can't access their own cameras when it matters.

What a Professional Install Includes
Coverage planning before drilling

We walk your property and identify entry points, chokepoints, and blind spots before placing a single camera.

Clean, concealed cable routing

All cables run inside walls and ceilings wherever possible. No visible cabling unless the structure makes it unavoidable.

Secure PoE wired connections

Power and data over a single Cat6 cable — stable, tamper-resistant, and not dependent on your Wi-Fi network.

Recorder configuration & mobile setup

NVR configured, storage set, motion alerts tuned, and the app installed on your phone before we leave.

★★★★★

"Seneca installed a full camera system for our 12-unit building and the work was immaculate. Every camera is perfectly positioned, the cabling is hidden, and the NVR is organized and labeled. Our tenants feel safer and the whole job was done in one day."

Natalie I.
Apartment Building Manager
★★★★★

"We needed cameras in our NYC office building on short notice. Seneca came out the same week, gave us a transparent proposal, and had everything up and running within two days. Professional from start to finish — absolutely recommend."

Olena B.
Office Building Manager, NYC
★★★★★

"These guys know what they're doing. They walked us through every camera placement before drilling a single hole. The setup was clean, they showed us how to use the app, and they checked back in a week later to make sure everything was good."

Manny G.
Building Staff, NYC
★★★★★

"I own a retail store in Brooklyn and had been putting off cameras for years because every quote seemed overpriced. Seneca gave me a fair price, used quality equipment, and the system has been flawless for over a year. Wish I'd called them sooner."

We serve all five boroughs of New York City — Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island — as well as Long Island, New Jersey, and Connecticut. If you're unsure whether we cover your area, give us a call and we'll let you know.
Yes — apartment buildings are one of our most common jobs. We work with building owners, property managers, and co-op boards to install camera systems in lobbies, hallways, stairwells, parking areas, and building exteriors. We're familiar with the access and approval processes required by NYC buildings.
Wired PoE systems are almost always the better choice for anything permanent. They don't drop off Wi-Fi, they can't be jammed, they deliver stable power over the same cable as data, and they typically provide better video quality. Wireless cameras have their place — primarily for temporary installs or locations where running cable isn't feasible — but we recommend wired for any long-term installation.
Yes. We use NVR (Network Video Recorder) based systems that store footage locally on a hard drive. Your cameras record 24/7 regardless of your internet connection status. Internet is only needed if you want to access live video or playback remotely from your phone — but local recording is never interrupted.
In many cases, yes. We're happy to assess your equipment and let you know if it's compatible and suitable for your property. However, we do stand behind the equipment we supply — so if you bring your own cameras or NVR, our warranty covers labor only, not the hardware itself. We'll always be upfront about compatibility before starting any work.
We primarily work with Hikvision and Dahua for IP camera systems — both are trusted by commercial and enterprise clients worldwide. For access control, we work with HID, Suprema, and similar professional-grade brands. For networking, we prefer Ubiquiti UniFi. We'll recommend the right equipment for your budget and use case.
Often yes. If you have an existing NVR with open channel capacity, adding cameras is straightforward. If your recorder is full or uses an incompatible protocol, we'll assess whether an upgrade makes sense versus a full replacement. Either way, we'll give you an honest recommendation based on what's actually in place.
Yes — remote viewing is a standard part of every installation we do. We configure the NVR for remote access, install the app on your smartphone (iOS or Android), and walk you through how to view live footage and review playback. We also set up motion alert notifications so you're notified when activity is detected.
For most residential installs (2–6 cameras), we complete the job in a single day — typically 4–8 hours depending on the property and cable routing complexity. Larger commercial installs or buildings requiring significant cable runs may take 1–2 days. We'll give you a realistic timeline in your proposal so you can plan accordingly.
