One cable per camera, run inside the walls and ceilings. Power goes up to the camera and video comes back down the same cable.
PoE recorder
The recorder (NVR) powers the cameras and saves every channel. We set the retention and label every channel by location.
Hard drives
Footage stays in your building. Storage is sized to you, from weeks to years, by adding drives. More cameras and higher resolution need more space, and we plan for it.
Phone app
Live view, playback and motion alerts on your phone. The internet only matters for watching from away. Recording keeps going without it.

RFI-01What type of cameras do you install: wired PoE, analog or wireless?
Mostly wired IP PoE (Power over Ethernet) systems. They give better image quality, reliability and security than analog or wireless cameras. In dense NYC buildings, wireless cameras fight interference from neighboring networks and from the building itself, so hardwired is the professional standard. We do install analog or wireless when the building truly requires it, for example in some pre-war buildings where new cable paths are not practical. We assess your property and recommend what fits it.
RFI-02How many cameras does my building or business actually need?
It depends on your layout, entry points, blind spots and what you want to protect. A ground-floor store in Midtown needs something very different from a Queens co-op with one lobby and a rear courtyard. As a rule, every exterior entry, elevator lobby, stairwell door and parking area should be covered. We walk the property before recommending a number, so you do not pay for extra cameras or leave gaps. For co-ops and managed buildings, we work within the board and management rules for common areas.
RFI-03Can I view live footage and recordings on my phone?
Yes. Every system we install includes remote viewing through a mobile app, for live video and recordings from anywhere with internet. We set up secure, encrypted remote access during the install and walk you through the app so you are comfortable from day one. We can also add users for property managers or building staff who need shared access.
RFI-04How is footage stored: locally or in the cloud?
On a local recorder (NVR), in the cloud, or both, and we help you choose based on privacy, budget and how long you need to keep footage. Local storage keeps footage in your building and under your control, which many co-op boards and businesses prefer. Cloud storage adds an off-site copy in case the recorder is damaged or tampered with. For most commercial clients we recommend local recording with cloud backup for the most important cameras.
RFI-05Do you handle the cabling, or just mount and configure the cameras?
The whole job. We are a licensed low-voltage contractor, so we handle the site assessment, cable routing, conduit, camera mounting, recorder setup and remote access. Pre-war NYC buildings have thick masonry walls and limited cable paths, and building management may have rules for work in common areas. We coordinate with supers, co-op boards and property managers, and keep the work clean and the disruption low. You get a fully installed, tested system, not a box of equipment and a mounting bracket.
