We walk the property with you or your facilities manager, map camera locations, find cable routes and choose where the recorder goes. Existing IT is noted to avoid conflicts.

A written scope: camera count, placement diagram, recorder spec, storage capacity and switch requirements. You approve it before we schedule the install.

RFI-B1How many cameras does a typical NYC retail store or restaurant need?
Most small retail stores are well covered with 4 to 8 cameras: entrance, point of sale, stockroom and rear exit. A restaurant usually needs 4 to 6, depending on the layout and whether the bar or kitchen needs coverage. We walk your space and give you a specific count, with the reason for each camera.
RFI-B2How much does commercial security camera installation cost in NYC?
It depends on the number of cameras, the layout, ceiling height and how complex the cable runs are. Warehouses and multi-floor offices take more. RFI-B3Can I access camera footage remotely from outside the business?
Yes. We set up remote access through the recorder's mobile and web apps. Owners, managers and security staff can each have their own account with different permissions: full access for owners, view-only or limited cameras for managers.
RFI-B4Do cameras need to be on the same network as our business computers?
They do not need to be, and we recommend against it. We put cameras on a dedicated PoE switch and a separate VLAN, isolated from your business network. It is better security practice, keeps cameras from using business bandwidth, and keeps your POS and office systems unaffected by camera traffic.
RFI-B5How long does commercial footage stay stored before it is overwritten?
We set retention based on storage capacity and what you need to keep. Many businesses ask for 30 days of continuous recording at full resolution. If you need longer for compliance, insurance or legal reasons, we size the drives up front. Sizing correctly at install is much easier than swapping drives later.
