After an incident

The recorder died. Is the footage gone?

Often not. Most DVR and NVR failures are the processor or power supply, not the drive. We pull the drive, read it in a lab setup, and recover the recordings where the file system is intact.

Do not power-cycle it repeatedlyEvery reboot can overwrite older footage on some recorders.
Note the time window you needDate and time of the incident speeds up recovery.
Not every case is recoverableBut most are. We tell you honestly before any work starts.
Any brand, even if we did not install it

You do not need the original installer.

No admin passwordWe recover the account and reset credentials.
No documentationWe identify what is installed and where it runs.
Installer out of businessWe source the part and get the system back online.

Most camera repair calls are on systems installed by companies long gone. We work on analog DVRs from the coax era, modern NVRs, and cloud VMS platforms, including the recorders and software behind them.

How we work 04

What a camera repair visit looks like.

No bait-and-switch. We tell you what we are seeing at every step.

01

Phone triage

Which cameras, what the recorder shows, when it started. Five minutes on the phone tells us which parts to bring.

02

On-site diagnostic

We walk the chain: power, signal path, recorder health, remote-view network. The first 20 minutes is isolation.

03

Fix on the spot

Cameras, hard drives, PoE injectors and common lenses are same-visit. Specialty parts get a firm order date.

04

Test every path

Live view, recording, remote view on your phone and playback, for every affected camera. Written summary for your file.

Older systems

Repair, or time to replace?

The honest math, on site

A dead camera on an old analog system is often cheaper to replace than repair. A failed recorder drive is a simple swap that keeps everything else running. We show you what each option costs and what you gain.

Analog to IP, without new cable

Converters let modern IP cameras run over your existing coax. We test the cable first to confirm it can carry the bandwidth, which can save you a full re-pull.

Frequent questions 06

Security camera repair FAQ.

Yes. That is most of our camera repair work. You do not need the original installer, the paperwork, or in most cases even the admin password. We identify the system, source parts, and recover account access where needed.
Often yes, if the drive itself is not physically destroyed. Most DVR and NVR failures are the processor or power supply, not the drive. We pull the drive, read it in a lab setup, and recover the recordings where the file system is intact. Not every case is recoverable, but most are.
Yes, and it is one of the most common calls. Usually a network change (new ISP router, firewall update, lost port forwarding), a stale cloud account, or an app that needs re-registering. We check the network path, cloud account and app configuration in that order.
It depends on what failed. A dead camera on an older analog system is often cheaper to replace than repair, but a failed DVR hard drive is a simple swap that keeps the rest of the system running. We give you the honest math on site.
Yes, in most cases. Converter devices let you reuse existing coax runs with modern IP cameras. We assess the cable condition, confirm it supports the bandwidth, and plan the upgrade accordingly.
