Intercom repair for any brand, any building.
Buzzer dead, no audio at the handset, video panel blank, or an apartment that cannot buzz visitors in. We repair every layer, from the lobby panel and the risers to the apartment station and the door strike, including systems installed by companies long gone.
Every intercom problem lives somewhere in the chain.
Tap what you are seeing. We will show you where it usually breaks and how we fix it.
A tenant presses the door button but the front door does not release, or it only works some of the time. Most broken-buzzer calls turn out to be this layer.
We measure voltage at the strike when the button is pressed, then repair the strike, the transformer or the run.
Full repair guide →The visitor can hear the tenant but not the other way around, or neither direction works.
We test the station, the riser and the lobby panel in turn, then replace the failed speaker, mic or wire.
Full repair guide →One apartment cannot talk to the lobby or buzz the door, while every other unit works.
We test the station and its line back to the riser, then replace the station or repair the break.
Full repair guide →No apartment can answer the lobby, the panel is dark, or the whole system went down at once.
We check power first, then the lobby panel and the risers. A failed transformer is often a same-visit fix.
Full repair guide →A call button does not register, the directory is unlit, or the panel speaker is silent. The vestibule takes weather and abuse the apartments never see.
Replace the worn buttons, directory lighting or speaker, and weather-seal the panel so it lasts.
Full repair guide →The video panel or apartment monitor is blank, flickering or frozen, while audio still works.
We test the camera module, the video wiring and the monitor, then repair or replace the part that failed.
Full repair guide →Tenants cannot answer the door from their phone, the app shows offline, or the system cannot reach the cloud.
We check the network, the cloud account and the app setup, in that order, and confirm calls ring through.
Full repair guide →Visitors dial a code at the entry panel but the call never reaches the tenant, or the directory is wrong.
We test the line or adapter, then reprogram the directory and check the controller.
Full repair guide →The intercom sounds nonstop, or the door stays released and will not lock again.
We find the stuck button or shorted wire, then confirm the strike locks again after every release.
Full repair guide →Buzzer will not open the door
A tenant presses the door button but the front door does not release, or it only works some of the time. Most broken-buzzer calls turn out to be this layer.
We measure voltage at the strike when the button is pressed, then repair the strike, the transformer or the run.
Full repair guide →One apartment, or the whole building?
One dead apartment usually means its station or its wire. Every apartment at once usually means power, the lobby panel or a shorted riser. And if the door will not release at all, the strike is the first suspect.

You do not need the original installer.
Most intercom repair calls are on systems installed by companies long gone, in buildings where nobody knows what is in the vestibule. That includes legacy, discontinued and unbranded multi-tenant systems, down to the old tin-can buzzers in pre-war buildings.
The door release is the same visit: HES, Adams Rite, Assa Abloy, Trine, RCI, SDC, Von Duprin, Mul-T-Lock, Seco-Larm and Securitech. Most broken-buzzer calls turn out to be this layer, and it is where many intercom-only shops stop short.
About system takeover →What an intercom repair visit looks like.
No talk of a new system before we have opened the panel.
Phone triage
How many apartments, when it started, any recent renovation or power issue. Five minutes on the phone tells us which parts to bring.
On-site diagnostic
Power to the panel, continuity across the riser, strike voltage, station contact. The first 15 minutes is isolation.
Fix on the spot
Buttons, transformers, standard strikes and popular handsets are same-visit. Obsolete parts get a firm order date and a workaround so the entrance stays in service.
Test every apartment
Every affected unit can talk to the lobby and buzz the door open. Written summary for the building file.
Repair, or time to replace?
Repair first, honestly
Most calls are a worn button, a failed transformer, a bad strike or corroded wiring. All fixable. We only recommend replacement when parts are gone, the system has failed several times in a year, or parts would cost more than a new system.
Moving to video or phone answering
When it is time to upgrade, we test the existing risers first. Depending on the system, a video or app-based intercom can often reuse wiring that is already in the walls.
