System takeover · NYC and tri-state

Security system takeover: we did not install it, and we will still fix it.

Your installer vanished, went out of business or stopped returning calls. Nobody has the admin password, and there is no documentation. We take it over: identify what is there, recover access, fix what is broken, and keep it running.

TAKEOVER · 01 / INSTALLER WENT OUT OF BUSINESS

Installer went out of business

The company that installed your cameras, access control or intercom closed. Nobody answers. The system still runs, but nobody maintains it.

FIRST STEP
A discovery visit: every device, model and credential we can find.
TAKEOVER · 02 / WE BOUGHT THE BUILDING OR BUSINESS

We bought the building or business

You inherited whatever systems were there. No records, no credentials, no idea what model or age. Common after a sale.

FIRST STEP
A discovery visit and a written inventory of what you own.
TAKEOVER · 03 / NOBODY HAS THE ADMIN LOGIN

Nobody has the admin login

A new management company took over and the previous admin left without handing over credentials. The system works, but nobody can add users or make changes.

FIRST STEP
The brand and ownership proof, which decide the recovery path.
TAKEOVER · 04 / INSTALLER WILL NOT CALL BACK

Installer will not call back

The installer still exists but stopped responding, or charges rates that make no sense. You want someone who answers.

FIRST STEP
What is installed and what is currently broken.
TAKEOVER · 05 / SEVERAL INSTALLERS, NO RECORDS

Several installers, no records

Three companies have touched the system over the years and nobody kept records. The patch panel is a mystery. Documentation is part of what you want.

FIRST STEP
Tracing and labeling, so every device has a name.
TAKEOVER · 06 / CURRENT PROVIDER CANNOT FIX IT

Current provider cannot fix it

Your current provider keeps saying it needs replacing, or cannot resolve the same problem. You want a second opinion and a path forward.

Locked out right now

The system works, but nobody can manage it?

That is the most common way a takeover starts. Find any login you have, even an old one, and note who owns the building or business. Ownership proof is what unlocks most systems.

Do not factory reset anythingA reset can wipe users, cards and settings.
Gather proof of ownershipA deed, lease or business record speeds up vendor transfers.
List every systemCameras, doors, intercom, network, AV. We take over one or all.
Any brand, even if we did not install it

You do not need the original installer.

No original installer, no paperwork, no admin login. That is where most of our takeovers start. We identify what is there and get control back to you.

Every system we take over

Pick one system or all of them. Each hub below covers the problems we fix in that system.

How access comes back

For cloud systems we go through the vendor ownership transfer with your proof of ownership. For on-site systems we use password resets, factory restores with the settings exported first, or console recovery.

Repair or replace

We take over what you have.

Keep and document

Most takeovers are keep what you have, document it and make it serviceable. Replacement only comes up when gear is truly at end of life or broken beyond repair.

When recovery is not possible

Rare, but some proprietary legacy systems cannot be unlocked. Then we lay out the options: a reset with manual re-enrollment, replacing one component to break the lockout, or a planned replacement.

The repair visit 04

How a takeover goes.

Four steps, from unknown system to documented and serviceable.

01

Discovery visit

We walk the site, identify every device, photograph model and serial numbers, note cable paths and collect any credentials we can access.

02

Admin recovery

Vendor ownership transfer for cloud systems, resets or console recovery for on-site systems. Admin access goes to you.

03

Documentation and labels

A written system map: every camera, door, switch port and device. Labels on the physical gear, so future repairs go fast.

04

Ongoing service

Call us when something breaks, or set up scheduled maintenance. You decide.

Frequent questions 06

System takeover FAQ.

It depends on how many systems and sites you have. We quote before any significant work, after you describe what you have.
Usually, yes. For cloud systems such as Brivo, Kisi, Verkada and Avigilon Alta, we go through the vendor ownership transfer with your proof of ownership. For on-site systems we use factory resets, console resets and other recovery methods. We tell you up front what recovery looks like for your brand.
We take over the system you have. Replacement only comes up if the gear is truly at end of life or broken beyond repair, and we give you an honest assessment after the discovery visit.
Yes. Many clients start with the system causing problems and add others later. You do not have to bundle.
It is rare, but possible on some proprietary legacy systems. Then we work through the alternatives: a reset with manual re-enrollment, replacing one component to break the lockout, or a planned replacement. We tell you the odds before we start.
Takeovers that start with an outage or a security concern get same-day priority when the schedule allows. Otherwise we schedule the discovery visit as soon as we can. Call 212-347-5400.
