Commercial Security Cameras

Business Camera Systems
Built for Real Commercial Use

Wired PoE camera systems for retail stores, restaurants, offices, warehouses, and multi-tenant commercial buildings in NYC. Designed for the scale and reliability businesses actually require — not repurposed residential equipment running on your Wi-Fi.

Commercial Considerations

What Makes a Commercial Install Different

Commercial deployments have requirements that don't apply to residential — scale, retention, IT integration, and loss prevention placement are all different conversations.

Scale & Channel Count

Retail and office environments often need 8–32 cameras across multiple zones. We design the NVR and switch architecture upfront so the system is expandable — not a patchwork added to later.

Loss Prevention Angles

Point-of-sale coverage, back stockroom, loading dock, and entrance/exit angles require deliberate placement. We understand what loss prevention actually needs — not just where cameras look good.

After-Hours & Shift Monitoring

Motion zones configured for after-hours detection vs. standard business hours. Cameras positioned for both security and operational accountability where needed by management.

Multi-Tenant & Mixed-Use

Landlords and building managers get coverage of common areas and entry points without exposing tenant-specific footage. Zone separation handled cleanly in configuration — not as an afterthought.

IT Network Integration

Cameras run on an isolated VLAN or dedicated PoE switch, separate from your business network. We coordinate with your IT team if needed — cameras don't need to touch your POS or office systems.

Retention & Evidence Quality

30-day continuous retention is standard for commercial deployments. We size storage and resolution to match what your insurance or legal requirements actually specify — upfront, not after the fact.

Technology

Consumer Cameras Aren't Built
for Commercial Use

Consumer-grade Wi-Fi cameras create real liability for businesses. Wired PoE is the industry standard for any commercial deployment that actually needs to work.

Problems with Wi-Fi Cameras for Business

  • Jammable before a targeted break-in — footage gap exactly when you need it
  • Cloud-only storage creates chain-of-custody problems for insurance claims
  • Signal unreliable in warehouses, basements, and thick commercial walls
  • Consumer devices don't scale past 8–10 cameras reliably
  • Monthly cloud fees that compound across locations

Wired PoE for Business

  • Jam-proof physical connection — always recording
  • Local NVR storage — footage under your control, not a vendor's cloud
  • Scales cleanly to 32+ cameras with the right NVR architecture
  • No monthly subscription — one-time install cost
  • Isolated from business network — cameras don't compete with POS or office traffic
The Process

Commercial Installs: From Site Survey
to Live System

Commercial jobs get a written scope before any work begins. No surprises on camera count, placement, or cost.

01

Site Survey

We walk the property with you or your facilities manager, map camera locations, identify cabling routes, and assess NVR placement. Existing IT infrastructure noted to avoid conflicts.

02

Written System Design

We provide a written scope: camera count, placement diagram, NVR spec, storage capacity, and switch requirements. You approve before we schedule the install — no guessing games.

03

Professional Installation

Cameras mounted at correct height and angle. Cabling run inside walls and ceilings, or through conduit in exposed commercial spaces like warehouses and mechanical rooms. Typically 1–2 days.

04

Commissioning & Staff Training

NVR commissioned, user accounts set up, remote access configured, motion zones tuned. Key staff trained on footage review and system access. System fully documented before we leave.

Common Questions

FAQ — Commercial Camera Installation

Most small retail stores are well covered with 4–8 cameras: entrance, point-of-sale, stockroom, and rear exit. A restaurant typically needs 4–6, depending on layout and whether you need coverage of the bar or kitchen. We'll walk your space and give you a specific count with justification for each camera — not a generic recommendation.
An 8-camera wired system for a retail store generally runs $3,500–$7,000 installed, depending on layout, ceiling height, and cabling complexity. Warehouses and multi-floor offices run higher. We price per site after a survey — commercial jobs have too many variables for a meaningful flat quote without seeing the space.
Yes. We configure remote access through the NVR's mobile and web interface. Multiple user accounts can be set up for owners, managers, and security staff with different permission levels — full access for owners, view-only or limited-channel access for managers.
They don't need to be, and we typically recommend against it. We put cameras on a dedicated PoE switch and separate VLAN, isolated from your business network. This is better security practice, prevents cameras from consuming business bandwidth, and keeps your POS and office systems unaffected by the camera traffic.
We configure retention based on your storage capacity. Standard commercial setups run 30 days of continuous recording at full resolution. If you need longer retention for compliance, insurance, or legal purposes, we spec the right drive size upfront — it's much easier to size correctly at install than to swap drives later.
